The Ultimate Guide to Pawhuska, would like pay tribute to all the Women of the Osage. Those who make Pawhuska and the surrounding area such a great place to visit. What a better way to start it off than with a acknowledgment to Ree Drummond, a.k.a The Pioneer Woman. As most of you know, Ree was raised in these parts, growing up just east of here in Bartlesville Oklahoma. We have all read (or should have by now) her love story “Black Heels to Tractor Wheels” (IF not get it NOW) and learn about the story of what brought her to Pawhuska.
You should also know by now the story of the Mercantile and watched with excitement as it came to life on her show as well as her blog. The addition of the Boarding House has also helped to further fuel tourism here in Osage County, and if you get a chance, peek into the windows of their Community Center. It is ideal for “meetings, occasions, shindigs & hootenannies”. Don’t you just love her whimsy? But did you know Ladd and Ree have recently opened P-Town Pizza? Their newest culinary establishment featuring a delicious wood fire pizzeria right here in Pawhuska. You will love their gourmet pizzas, hot wings, salads and NOT KNOTS (a must). The pizzeria also features a great bar and balcony to enjoy the view of the main square in Pawhuska. Construction is still underway on the space between the Boarding House and Community Center, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for Pawhuska next.
Ree is such an inspiration to all the women here in Osage County and the surrounding area, not to mention the millions who follow her story and come to visit Pawhuska. She proves you can follow your dreams and still be a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend to the ones around you.
Thank you Ree, for helping shine a bright light for all to see here in Pawhuska Oklahoma.
